RETI Center’s Local Power Community Solar project was developed on the New World Preparatory Public School, helping NYC residents to the benefits of clean energy. By using NWP rooftop space on Staten Island, the project makes it possible for residents who can’t install solar panels on their own homes to access the savings and environmental benefits of solar power, as well as bringing education opportunities to the school’s over 800 student population. It’s a step toward energy equity and environmental justice for communities historically left out of the clean energy transition.
